Authentic Pilates

Joseph H Pilates developed his method for the rehabilitation of war victims and to get the soldiers back on their feet again as soon as possible. And it is no surprise that it appearded that body and mind are closely connected here as well.

After the publication of his book ‘Return To Life Through Contrology’ back in 1945, different groups found out that the Pilates practice is very sanative, especially to (lower) back injuries.

Professional dancers and sportsmen, where balance in particular is important, like for instance surfers, discovered the benefits of the method and made it a regular, even standard part of their training. But even now, almost 70 years later it is still being used in rehabilitation and physiotherapy.

As one of the few it survived all mania and hypes and still is a wonderful way in exercising and motion.
